Auckland's War Memorial Museum in Parnell tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. The Museum is a war memorial for the province of Auckland and holds one of New Zealand's top three heritage libraries.

I had forgotten how close Kaikoura was to the Southern Alps until a recent trip. It was a beautiful drive heading south from Marlborough, complete with seals sunning themselves on the rocks alongside the highway.
