Open seven days a week year-round (except for Christmas Day)

Summer: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (last entrance 5 pm)

Winter: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (last entrance 4:30 pm)

Where is Kiwi Park Queenstown Located?

Kiwi Park can be located at 51 Brecon Street, Queenstown, 9300. Only a 10-minute drive from Queenstown Airport or a short 5-10 minute walk from the Queenstown town centre. Collect a car from Omega Rental Cars Queenstown close to the airport at 202 Hawthorne Drive, Frankton, or from the Queenstown city branch at 5/93 Beach Street, Queenstown 9300.

See New Zealand’s National Icon with Kiwi Encounters

Daily Kiwi Encounter time slots: 10 am - 12:15 pm - 1 pm - 2 pm - 3:45 pm - 4:30 pm 

It’s very rare to spot a Kiwi in the wild, but when visiting Kiwi Park, you will be spotting some Kiwis! The Kiwi encounter has six-time slots daily, where a professional wildlife team member will educate you on this iconic bird. And you will have the chance to spot one of these fascinating birds in their native habitat.

Visit the Kiwi House

Explore the Kiwi house specially designed for Kiwi needs! The specially designed nocturnal house provides the best Kiwi viewing in the country! This is a must-do experience in Queenstown or even New Zealand - you can’t visit without spotting the iconic Kiwi bird. Have you ever wondered what a Kiwi eats and why it is nocturnal or can’t fly? Come along to Kiwi Park for an unforgettable experience viewing Kiwi, and ask one of the qualified wildlife professionals

Explore the Park

If you are up for an adventure and want to explore over 20 species of native wildlife, Kiwi Park has this in store! Enjoy walking around a 5-acre oasis at your own pace, with your family and friends, or by yourself, and appreciate the natural and wildlife surroundings in the heart of Queenstown. 

Watch the living fossil known as the Tuatara move around in the bushes, or look for the Kārearea/New Zealand Falcon, which features on the New Zealand 20-dollar note! If you want a quick rest or a snack that will give you a boost of energy, park up at the cafe for lunch or browse the gift shop, where a portion of the proceeds supports Kiwi Park’s conservation efforts!

Conservation Show

Conservation show times: 11:30 am, 3:00 pm daily.

Book one of the conservation shows that are only on twice a day. Enjoy a 30-minute free-flight show, offering you a rare opportunity to see fascinating endangered wildlife species like never before. A professional wildlife team member will lead the show and provide you with an unforgettable experience! Bring the family along and enjoy learning about these fascinating birds, conservation work, and other endangered wildlife as they demonstrate their skills to you.  


Self-guided Audio

The self-guided audio is an excellent opportunity for those who feel like immersing themselves in a world of native wildlife. Honey Bee Centre

Do you love the taste of delicious golden honey? The Honey Bee Centre will satisfy all your honey cravings, and you can enjoy the complimentary honey tasting! Pop on down after your Kiwi encounter and explore many different flavours, grades and combinations of quality New Zealand honey. 


Private Tours:

Tour times: 10 am or 2 pm daily

The tour takes up to 2.5 hours. Six people max per private tour.

Cost $480 

If you want to get up close and personal or ask as many questions as you want, take advantage of the 1:1 private tour, where a qualified guide takes you around the park! This is an exclusive opportunity to understand native wildlife and enjoy a personal encounter with endangered species.
