Day 1: Christchurch to Cromwell

In Oamaru, nature enthusiasts can observe the rare and fascinating rare yellow-eyed penguins at Bushy Beach Scenic Reserve. These lovable creatures waddle ashore each evening, providing a heartwarming spectacle. The Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony offers the chance to witness the world's smallest penguin species return to their nests after a day of fishing.

Day 3: Oamaru to Dunedin

Driving south from Oamaru along a scenic coastal route brings you to the famous Moeraki Boulders. These massive spherical stones are scattered along Koekohe Beach, creating a surreal and photogenic sight. Drive along Lighthouse Road to glimpse the darling yellow-eyed and little blue penguins.
