Mountain Bike Cardrona this Summer

Cardrona Alpine Resort is not only a great winter destination, they also have some great summer activities for the whole family to enjoy, so why not add them to your Queenstown holiday planner!  

Thrill seekers can enjoy the Cardrona mountain bike park and mountain carting, while those who like to move at a slightly slower pace can explore the region's hiking trails, take a guided walk or an Alpine by Night experience.

The Summer Season at Cardrona starts on December 1st and runs through to 31st March.

Cardrona Mountain Biking

Whether you are an experienced hardcore mountain biker, or just keen to enjoy the trails, the Cardrona Bike Park is for you!  Its variety of lift accessed downhill and cross country mountain bike trails have something for everyone.  There are beginner trails you can use to build your confidence, then move onto the intermediate and more advanced trails.  There is even a kids' park (located in the Base Area).

Bikes are available for hire on site (bookings essential) and there are a variety of pass options, starting from a half day lift pass.  There are even food and beverage options in the Mezze Cafe and mountain biking lessons for those wanting to improve their skills with the help of a pro.

 

Mountain Carting

If you've got a taste for a slightly different adventure - try mountain carting!  These ergonomically designed carts with hydraulic disc brakes give you the opportunity to enjoy a great gravity-fuelled activity. There are a variety of carts available to suit the driver's height, and as with the mountain biking you access the cart trails via Cardrona's lift system with lifts operating 10am - 4pm.

It is strongly recommended that you book for this one and allow plenty of time, as they'll need to get you kitted up and run you through the safety briefing before you start.

 

 

Walking, Hiking or Alpine by Night

If you prefer a slightly slower pace to your holiday, then summer at Cardrona is still for you!  There are many beautiful alpine trails to explore by day at Cardrona.

Cardrona offers a free shuttle service from Wanaka or Queenstown, or pick up a rental car from Queenstown Airport and you'll have complete flexibility to explore as you wish during your Queenstown holiday.
